An Unexpected Rescue
Zarin’s thoughts were spinning, panic rising in his chest as the succubus drew closer, her claws gently trailing over his skin. Her dark magic completely paralyzed him, trapping him. He attempted to break free from her hold, but his body remained locked in place, every muscle refusing to move.
The succubus’s voice dripped with amusement as she whispered in his ear, “Oh, don’t worry, Zarin. I’ll take my time with you. We’ve got all the—”
Suddenly, the door to the room flew open with a loud bang, and a familiar voice rang out.
“Let my man go, you filthy demon!”
The succubus froze, turning toward the source of the voice with a curious smile. Standing in the doorway, hands on her hips, was none other than Jorra, the goblin princess. She glared at the succubus with fire in her eyes, her expression a mixture of anger and determination.
The succubus’s lips curled into an amused grin, her claws retracting slightly. “Your *man*, you say?” she purred, clearly entertained by the interruption. “How delightful. I didn’t realize I was interrupting such an important relationship.”
Jorra marched forward, utterly unfazed by the succubus’s mockery. “That’s right!” she shouted, pointing a finger at the dark creature. “I don’t care what tricks you’ve pulled, but you won’t take him!”
The succubus chuckled, her red eyes glinting with mischief. “Oh, sweetheart, I wasn’t taking him. We were just about to have some fun.” She ran a claw along Zarin’s jawline, causing him to shiver in his immobilized state. “It’s been so long since I’ve had a plaything, and your precious ‘man’ was *so* quick to agree.”
Zarin, still paralyzed, mentally screamed in frustration. This isn’t fun! Someone, please—just get me out of here!
Jorra’s eyes narrowed, her grip tightening on the hilt of a dagger at her side. “You think you’re so clever, don’t you?” she growled, stepping forward. “But you’re just a coward, hiding behind your magic.”
The succubus grinned wickedly. “Oh, I’ve met goblins before, but you’re feistier than most. How charming. I’d love to play with you, too.” She licked her lips, clearly enjoying the back-and-forth.
“You talk too much,” Jorra shot back. “I’ve fought worse than you in my sleep!”
The succubus tilted her head, her interest piqued. “Is that so? Then why don’t you come over here and—”
Before the succubus could finish her taunt, she suddenly leaped to the side, narrowly avoiding a strike from behind. A hooded figure appeared seemingly out of nowhere and attempted a backstab with a gleaming dagger. The blade sliced through the air where the succubus had stood moments before.
The succubus’s eyes widened slightly in surprise, though her amusement never left her face. “Oh, now this is interesting,” she said, her voice calm despite the attack. “Another player enters the game.”
The hooded figure didn’t speak, but their movements were quick and precise. They dashed forward, striking at the succubus again with deadly accuracy. The succubus dodged effortlessly, her movements fluid and graceful as she easily avoided each strike. Every time the blade came close, she twisted out of the way with a laugh.
“Ah, such a powerful specimen,” the succubus purred, clearly enjoying the fight. “Where did you come from, I wonder? And why are you so interested in me?” She dodged another strike, her wings flaring slightly as she took a playful step back.
The hooded figure remained silent, their attacks relentless. They aimed each strike with deadly precision, but the succubus was too fast, unable to match her unmatched agility. She danced around the room, dodging and weaving as if the attacks were nothing more than a game to her.
“Is that the best you’ve got?” the succubus teased, dodging another strike. “I thought you were trying to kill me.”
Jorra, watching from the sidelines, gritted her teeth in frustration. “Stop dodging and fight, you coward!”
The succubus yawned dramatically, clearly unimpressed by the hooded figure’s attempts. “I could keep this up all day, darling,” she said, her voice dripping with boredom. “But, unfortunately, I have other plans.”
In a swift motion, the succubus leaped backward, distancing herself from the hooded attacker. After landing gracefully, she glanced at Zarin, who remained frozen. Her red eyes glowed with amusement.
“It seems our little game will have to wait, Zarin,” she said, her voice soft and teasing. “But don’t worry. We’ll meet again. Soon.”
Zarin’s heart pounded in his chest as he watched helplessly. The succubus winked at him, a wicked smile playing on her lips. Then, without warning, a circle of glowing runes appeared beneath her feet, casting a strange, eerie light across the room.
Zarin’s eyes widened as the runes twisted and turned, forming intricate patterns that pulsed with magical energy. He recognized them as some kind of teleportation spell, but the details were beyond his understanding.
“Until next time, my dear,” the succubus said, her voice echoing through the room as she faded from view. “Try to survive until then. I’ll be watching.”
With a final wink, the succubus vanished, disappearing into thin air as the magical runes dissolved into nothingness.
Zarin gasped as the paralyzing effect of the charm lifted his muscles finally free. He staggered forward, catching himself from dropping to the ground.
The room fell silent, the tension thick in the air.
